Regular Classes | Specialty Classes | By Invitation Only Introductory Level - Easy to Moderate Pace, Mixed Adult Class, Ongoing
Students begin to develop an awareness of the principles of balance and centering that are the essence of
Aikido. The focus is on basic stance and movements (kihon dosa), safe falls and rolls (ukemi), and selected
Aikido techniques.
The student is welcome to participate in testing for rank after a few weeks of work.
Classes focus on learning and polishing basic movements, techniques, falls, and rolls. This includes
instruction in proper breathing techniques and the exploration of Aikido philosophy. Opportunities to prepare for
belt-rank tests are provided. Taught
by black belt-ranked, licensed instructors.
This class provides kids with an opportunity to succeed at a martial art that focuses on cooperation rather than
competition. The instructors teach with a view toward improving the students’ self-confidence and self-esteem as well as their physical capabilities. Parents are encouraged to attend and participate on the mat if desired.
Aiki-Protect This course provides its participants with the skills they need to protect themselves in any situation or environment. It
is not only a self-defense class, which teaches defense against physical confrontations, but also develops the
participants' personal strength and awareness. These concepts are based on Aikido's core philosophy of moving negative
energy away from oneself.
Each course is tailored to the unique needs and requirements of the students. We teach sessions for mixed adults, women only, college students, teenagers, family groups, law enforcement (P.O.S.T. credit available), security personnel, corporate executives, nursing home and other health care workers, and other interested groups. $50.00/session*, Group rates available
Learn breath control exercises, basic Aikido movements, and Aikido and martial arts philosophy. Ideal for students seeking to integrate Aikido principles like balance and awareness into their daily lives, and for those seeking a more profound
